THE IDEOLOGICAL PROPOSITION HERE IN THIS BLOG IS ABOUT AN AFRICAN POLITICAL ORIENTATION;
focused on the redirection of all minds towards Black Realism and Determinism and the inculcation of discipline in the individual Africans, both in their body and mind. With expectations that this sociology-psychological& philosophical orientation would permeate into the institutional and organizational life of the citizens of the continent and. Consequently prevents all acts that seek to tarnish the image of the black people all over the world. The subject matter “AFRICAN POLITICS” refers to the operational system of social relations and social intrigues in the entire process of seeking political power in a typical African society, as obtainable today. Unfortunately these attitudes in a systemic process are often counterproductive in our dear quest for a sustainable socio-economic development. In other words the activities and affairs involved in the management and control of the state resources and her political apparatus. Yes in this context politics is about “WHO” gets “WHAT” “HOW” and “WHEN”, in the overall social relations and affairs in a state. More so, its involves the authoritative process of allocating state resources, subject to “HOW”, “WHEN” and “WHO”. The question is does these justify the cruel, corrupt and uncivilized manner in which some African political leaders conduct the affairs of the African states? Or are we justifying the western racist ideals for passing judgments on black Africans, based on their skin colure rather than on the basis of the content of their character? Could it be a manipulation of the unseen hands of these same race apologists , now metamorphosed into “liberal democrats” in view of the new world era, thus; “GLOBALIZATION”.
”. If not why would you as” an overseer” criticize a man for being corrupt and mismanaging a system under his care and control, yet you and your system remains a beneficiary to the accruals and proceeds from the same corrupt activities you criticize. That African leaders are corrupt is no more a news item. The worries now lie in the magnitude, trends and systematic manner in which these corrupt activities are being carried out by these men and women, whom in their hands ,the future, and of economic and social developments of these states are entrusted. Situations where political leaders embezzles funds meant for socio-economic development of the people they are supposed to serve, by converting them into personal/private funds, which they take to bank accounts, domiciled in the western developed countries in Europe and America. For Instances the “monopolistic political control “in an acclaimed practice of constitutional democratic culture, as is the case in Nigeria where a particular opposition political party is being manned and controlled by a particular single individual in the guise of a party leader. He practically decides who gets what in terms of political appointments and elective positions, with little or no regard for merits, qualifications and due process. Furthermore as is evidenced in a the case of a former state governor, in the fourth republic in Nigeria, where his acclaimed political “GODFATHER” subjected him to swearing of diabolic oath in a popular African shrine in the south-east as an insurance that he would be getting a private fiscal allocation from the state purse without any due consideration for the level of infrastructural and socio-economic decay in the state that needs attention with these resources.
Why should there be coup d’état at this stage in the new world era, as we saw recently in guinea Bissau, a tiny west African country where the “shadowy self-styled military junta” just took over the affairs of government, after it derailed a presidential election by arresting the poll’s front runner on April 12 2012.In an era when every country in other regions of the world now talk about the professionalization of their military institutions which would be subjected to a democratic and constituted civil control. “BLACK MENTALITY” in my view, a psychological culture and as well a problem in Africa’s socio-political system is the obvious reason for the region’s problem of underdevelopment and economic stagnation. The only way forward is for the players and key actors in this system of socio-political and economic relations, to begin to imbibe the culture of discipline, thus; moral, fiscal, and political.
2) Adhere to the basic principles and rules as applicable, either in terms of conventions or constitutionality as in constitutional democratic value system.3) The leadership decision making rational should be devoid of nepotism rather it should be based on ethical conducts and professionalism.
